1. New - PowerPoint printing station now available, as of 7/17/08. The stand-up quick-printing computer at the OPAC stations now has a copy of PowerPoint installed. Files opened in PowerPoint can be printed in any of the usual PowerPoint options: handouts, multiple slides per page, etc. (Note: as on 7/21/08, most files need to be saved first, then opened - files are often opening in the PowerPoint viewer instead of the full software, a problem that Horacio is working on.)
2. PowerPoint files can still not be printed as multiple-pages-per-sheet from the public workstations. Horacio is working on this, has confirmed what the problem is, & is pursuing ways to get around the problem. Any student wanting to print a PowerPoint file (.ppt) with multiple slides per sheet should be directed to use one of our laptops, which have the software on them. (Still in effect as of 10/25/07)
3. PowerPoint oddity. While trying to print a PowerPoint file double-sided, a student managed to get the student printer to stop and display a message about "please feed paper in manual feeder," instead of automatically printing on both sides. We haven't been able to duplicate this yet, but the student may have been in WebCT and viewing a PowerPoint file that displayed within the WebCT window (rather than displaying full-screen with the ppt viewer). If anyone comes across one of these files, please test, and let us know what class & document you used. (10/25/07)
